Let the mind run the body..not the body run the mind..

"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

- George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

I'm such an amateur right now in running compared to the runners out there. I know I shouldn't be hard on myself because I have never played a sport in High School or when I was younger, never been in any shape to be athletic and never ran a MARATHON in my life...so I shouldn't put myself down because everyone has their own pace. But it sucks to hear that folks I know can run a 5mile run in an hour with out stopping for water or to stretch.

Yesterday, I got 3.4 miles done in 1 hr and 15 mins thats with walking/jogging.

Today, I got 4 miles in 46 minutes(walk/jogg/run).(About 11mins/1miles) So I'm improving in small increments..baby steps ash...baby steps. But it's so hard for me to run straight without stopping for air and water bec i feel like im going to crash bec i feel so light headed and my calves start to burn a little.

I just realized that you really have to tell yourself that you have the will power to get it and you will just do fine. There is no competition here with anyone except with myself. I swear your mind can sometimes be your worst enemy.

Lets hope for a better run tomorrow...the day after tomorrow..and for the rest of this training.
